Cobra Technologies Announces RDBMS support for Cobra Bots

Boston, MA, February 24, 2003 - Cobra Technologies today announced the addition of RDBMS support for its Lookup Bot for Lotus SametimeTM. Cobra has taken full advantage of the Lotus Sametime technology to design and create a relational database lookup bot, which produces immediate out-of-the box benefits while enhancing the functionality of the Lotus Sametime environment.

The relational Lookup Bot is the next step in allowing users to quickly and easily access corporate relational data through the Lotus Sametime IM Client. Cobra currently offers support for IBM DB2, Microsoft SQL Server, and Microsoft Access with additional databases to follow. This lookup bot puts the power of relational data at the fingertips of users and opens new doors for user data access.

Also released today is Cobra's Journal Bot for Lotus Sametime. This bot allows queries and updates to a Lotus Domino journal application. This solution is the first of its kind to allow a user to input as well as query data.

Additional wizard functionality and updates are also released today making the Cobra Bot Wizard a more powerful and easy-to-use interface. The bot wizard provides a quick and easy interface to configure and deploy Cobra Bots.

Cobra Bots for Sametime appear as "buddies" in the Sametime Connect Instant Messaging client, performing user-defined searches and returning results within the same instant message session. Bots also eliminate the need to carry around large amounts of data on a PDA that are only as current as a user's latest synchronization. Cobra currently has Bot solutions allowing users to perform calendar searches, lookup information to Domino and ODBC-compliant databases, email monitoring for urgent email, reminders, and Domino/LDAP directory searches.

Cobra Bots For Lotus Sametime were designed and developed by Cobra Technologies for the expressed sole purpose of enhancing Lotus Sametime from IBM Lotus software.
